outfit of the day

Purple Anthropologie drop waist dress size large, usually wear as a dresss but wore pants today. Target L belt in mint. Kmart jeggings in xxl. Flip flops, i don't know from where and xl target cardigan.

tired...I'm no model but I'm me and sometimes I hate that and sometimes I'm okay with it. :) working on being more of the latter or even happy with me.

Vacation Photos! :)

Depending on my frame of mind, I either feel like I look decent or awful in these photos and that is the cruel thing about beauty standards. I can't feel as good about myself at an 'overweight' place or even happy about the 35 pounds I have lost so far because it isn't " good enough." But I was always good enough, at every weight and size. And I always will be. And so are you and so you will be too.

I'm the one with reddish hair. Haha

My Spoils from Thursday Shopping AND Some Stuff I Already Had that I LOVE and I am Bringing! :)

On Thursday I went shopping with my mom and sister. We visited Macy's and Forever 21.

Note: I have one pair of jeans not in the photos because they're on hold at Macy's and I'm getting this evening so I'll post about them later and more about feeling comfortable for the first time in two years in jeans, and how awesome (if you are someone working on losing weight) it feels to be a size and a half smaller! :)

Here is what I found: (PS) That weird foot is my boyfriend's, so WHY did he only take one photo? I felt that from above was unfair, only tall people see me that way. I want you to see me at not only "flattering" angles... I don't look only that way. :)

PS Links to currently sold items will be listed as LINK. :)

American Rag Plus, size 1X (they carry 0x-3x), at Macy's, Dress, and about a year old cardigan also from Macy's and also a 1X.
So the dress has a cute vintage feel with the bottom trim, it has the front zipper, since last season (I got two last year in different patterns, one with no trim and one with cotton lace trim hehe) they've made the padding at the bust better, it is still individual obviously (since the zipper) but it is much thinner and a tad wider which hopefully means it wont fold like the other two in which case I had cut them out from the inside. The straps are adjustable which is always good. It is a fit n flare with lovely very stretchy panelling (hidden away perfectly at the mid-back) which meant that this is the same size I wore last year even though my waist is 4 inches smaller! So now it is ALMOST too loose but still wearable until probably a size or two smaller (12-14 is about a 0x realistically since this is juniors sizing).

and in their other pattern: black back with white polka dots! (so cute!!) LINK

 Closer look at the pattern
The trim, it is only at the end which is comfortable, no itchy business.
 stretchy panelling and tag
Look at the pattern, geometric and flowers. Neat, funky and very summery! :)

The lace on the sides of the cardigan.
 Tag, Premise Studio at Macy's.

This next dress is from Forever 21+. It is a 2X (Forever 21 also runs as more junior sizing and smaller). The cardigan is also "older," and is from Macy's and is a XL petite from Charter Club.
This is a"chiffon" style bottom that is flowy (and if you're not careful quite see-through), it has a silky shift underneath that hits at the knee and smartly has some elastic at the bottom that keeps it in place! The top overlay is a loose lace. The color is a blush-y, almost tan/cream off-white color.
* Currently sold out ONLINE.

Same dress, Cardigan from first post, just trying to figure out which color is preferable. :p

Eyelet, Orange-y dress from Target, size XXL, with an Old Navy XL cardigan.
GREAT elastic waist, this size is too big in the waist, it is fine in the bust and good at the hips, because of having a bigger lower tummy, I prefer for it to be a little loose at the waist than too tight at the stomach.

This second cardigan is from K-Mart and is a XL. It is also an eyelet pattern and is an off-white color and very cool for summer!
Basic Editions is the brand.

Mossimo is the brand.

This blouse is from American Rag plus and is a size 1X. I have numerous blouses in this style from this brand. They're light, comfy, flowy and cute! I LOVE THEM! This is a new one (since all my old ones were getting a bit worn). The cardigan is Old Navy, XXL (their XL had been sold out). Here I am also wearing new BONGO at K-mart jeggings. They're AMAZINGLY comfortable and higher waisted which I love because there is no camel-toe from pulling up low-waist jeans/jeggings and these look like jeans and feel like soft, stretchy jeans. They're a dark wash too which I like. They come in sizes S-3X. They're all together in the juniors section. I'm wearing a 1X here. They fit me at 5'3" tall and my sister at 5'7" tall. A 1X fits a size 16 (me) and 18 (my sister). A size 14 would probably need a XL and a size 20 would probably need a 2X, assuming each X represents two sizes, the 3X could probably fit a size 26.

As you can see it is a more mint color.

LINK They're called Knit Jeggings and this is the plus size link (of course!)

Old Navy Cardigan from before and a Forever 21 + blouse in a 1X. It is looser and very flowy. I like my blouses long to completely cover my tummy.

This is another new American Rag plus blouse in a 1X. This is slightly more polyester, silky material instead of more cotton. It is a neat pattern I thought. This is with the pink cardigan seen above. (This was supposed to be a "new" top but I can't find it online, sorry!)

This is another Old Navy cardigan in a size XL.

And a third blouse from American Rag plus in a size XL. A tropical print that is fun! This is with a black cardigan, identical excepting color as the other lace one seen above.

The color balance is off, weirdly, but this is with the burgundy cardigan.

SOME OTHER FINDS:

Titled "Basic Top Cami" Not sure which online link but here are three! LOL

I got these two camisoles from Forever 21 + in a size 3X. These are looser on me BUT not super loose. I recommend sizing up, (I wear between a 1X and 2X at Forever 21). I got it in mint and black. So cheap too! Pretty soft. I got these for added cleavage coverage (which is not necessary but I prefer) with the American Rag blouses. Bust/waist wise I'd fit better a 0X but tummy wise I am a 1X so it can be a tad gap-y if I ever bend/lean over and it can be like BAM! BREASTS! (which if you're busty you know is easy when you're a D {like me} or larger!)

PS I was wearing as a PJ old casual dresses that were a loose style from summer from ASOS plus (they're WAY too big at a size 20 for me but so damn comfy)!!! They're leaping tigers. :D I had bought these when I was a 1.5 sizes bigger in June 2014, for traveling because I spent two weeks in the UK with my dad. They'd been loose then but passably because I was about a 14-18 in dresses (Now I'm a 12-16 in dresses and a 16 in pants). I was a VERY tight 18 in pants and because of the then in between sizing I avoided pants for the most part for 2 years plus I was a total idiot and until this summer ashamed of being plus-sized and often instead of sizing up or just dealing with how I looked, I'd not go shopping, OR even more so, I'd avoid actually making life choices to love myself and make lifestyle changes to feel healthier and also to lose weight.

Thanks for Reading and Comment PLEASE!! :D

SIZE CHARTS:

This last one is not THAT helpful. The jeggings are looser and more women's style than juniors. As you can notice juniors is WAYYYYYY smaller than women's sizing. So freaking weird to me... But just fyi for K-mart sizing. I tried on a 15 and it fit like a 12, looking at this size chart NOW I know why! lol

Clothing for Travel to Walt Disney World and New Orleans in Spring!

So the fam and I are going to WDW and New Orleans in the end of March! We are SUPER

EXCITED! But what about clothing as a plus-sized person? I've lost 30 pounds recently (70 to go!)

and I'm feeling a little better about how I look (which I know is not the most fat-positive thing to say

but I'm not personally happy at my size and if you are do keep reading, I SWEAR I believe in health,

fashion and beauty at EVERY size!!)  and I'm

about a size 16/18 in pants (12-16 in dresses). I need some "jeggings" and I have some older blouses

and because my tummy is my problem area I like longer blouses. Sadly, even though I have a more

hourglass shape (currently 45-36.5-52) {See lower tummy issues lol}, I AM MOST DEFINITELY

NOT the shape of a plus-sized model. (AT THIS POINT SKIP DOWN TO CLOTHING IF YOU DON'T want a mini rant/opinion!)

Sometimes I hate the plus-size models being sold more than

the "thin" ones. The thin ones are so thin that they are something like 10% body fat, but plus-size

models are

more like 30% with curves in "all the right places" in society's eyes, so they have (or either make

them look like they have) larger breasts, butts, thick but smooth thighs, typically thinner arms and

legs though, and flat stomachs, usually in an hourglass shape like the very lovely Ashley Graham

whom is a model (see below). Yes, she is CURVY, but she doesn't look like me, even when I was at

a size 12 (like her approximate pant size) I never had a flat stomach, even at an 8 when I was a

teenager, I still

didn't have a flat stomach. I wasn't built that way and many women aren't. But nobody is telling

women, you won't look like a plus-size model either. Plus-size models are GREAT, body positivity is

GREAT but it also should be realistic too. 90% of us won't look like any kind of normalized model

ever. Plus-size models are more accepted than plus-size people. Because they're the perfect kind of

curvy just like models are the ideal kind of thin. Different imagery, especially curvy imagery is

GREAT, but it is far from perfect because non-hourglass bodies and bodies with too much fat are still

not "acceptable" for modeling. As awesome as it is that the model Tess Holliday was signed, (she

looks to be about a US size 22-26), it doesn't mean her images will be mainstream nor that others

will follow. So I like to say, celebrate but be realistic too.

So WTH do I buy and where? I want to try on in person and due to time shipping is iffy. Well, I did some searching and here is what I found for this Thursday! :)

Forever 21+ : They typically carry sizes XL - 3X (their sizing for non-plus is usually S-L with some XS). + Size Chart:
(FYI my size is a 1X, although if I'm nervous or if it's tighter I'll be a 2X, but another reason I like dresses and loose blouses is because my hips are a 3X but my waist is a 1X, MANY women experience this same dilemma, especially if they're very pear shaped and vice-versa for apples).

I'm only 63" tall so I'm short, which is why I have this last one. FYI the sizing is by color so each color may have all of them or none of them...
Hopefully my forever 21 + section will have one of these!!

MACY'S:
"Junior Sizing:" 14-24. I was recommended an 18 by their size guide (which is a pretty neat tool).
This pant is a mid-rise which I like. Low-rise suck for me and my tummy control hopes. My current only pair of jeans is from Target and is a low-rise. It is an 18, I pull it up almost to my waist but then I get some camel-toe which means I only wear these pants with thigh-length blouses and also, if i HAVE to.
I couldn't really find any online that were available within 25 miles of me (WTF Macy's and JC Penney's) so I'm going to wing it at JC Penney's, Macy's and Forever 21. Wish me luck. :)

Cheers! <3 Britt
